Creation and Fundraising
In
order to be as independent as possible, the foundation will
be continually investigating revenue generating ideas and
projects. One such idea will be an "Adopt an Argane Tree"
project. This will involve setting up stands in the hotels
of Essaouira, with the goal of expanding to the hotels and
airports of Marrakesh and Agadir, and giving travelers the
opportunity to pay to have an argane tree planted. Along with
this fee will come a picture of the tree once it is planted
and updates on its progress, as well as membership in The
Argane Foundation.
The
foundation will also be researching and contacting individuals
and organizations who are sympathetic to its concerns. The
internet is now available and inexpensive in Morocco, and
this will allow it to have a maximum outreach at minimal cost.
